The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Lawyerto be seconded or transferred (Section 26) to a high profile federal governmentdepartment.
This position will require the successful candidate to provide support to our Commonwealth client, that is informed and directed by sound knowledge and will require the successful candidate to undertake some research and analysis activities to assist theteam.
The Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include assisting with:
- the preparation of Notices to Give;
- supporting the preparation of witnesses;
- reviewing documents requested by an investigative body; and
- resolving any incidental legal issues arising from the notices.
The Requirements
The successful candidate will possessstrong analytical and communication skills, and sound legal research skills.
It is expected that the candidate will be a highly motivatedself-starter who can quickly adapt to a range of issues yet to beidentified.
Previous experience in a litigationteam in a federal government department would be highly regarded. Strongcommunication and IT Systems skills are essential.
A current Baseline security clearance and practising certificate are also essential.
