Lawyers (Litigation and Administrative Law) – Baseline Clearance Essential
Initial secondment to 30 June 2024 with possible extension/s – Canberra Location (virtual/remote working arrangements may be considered)
The Role
Our client is seeking experienced Litigation Lawyers to be seconded to the Litigation Team within a high profile Commonwealth department based in Canberra. A newly established Taskforce to administer a new Commonwealth order scheme has been stood up and this is a rare opportunity to do quasi criminal and admin law work focused on protecting the Australian Community.
The Responsibilities
The position requires the successful candidates to:
• have previous exposure to a litigation practice;
• enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
• possess experience in meeting tight deadlines;
• have a positive attitude, be resilient and efficient;
• be looking for a wide variety of litigation and administrative law matters; and
• possess excellent attention to detail.
The Requirements
Legal qualifications, a current practicing certificate and a minimum baseline security clearance are essential.
Candidates with experience in either litigation, administrative law or criminal law experience in a Federal setting will be highly regarded. An ideal candidate will have experience in high volume discovery and document review process and experience using NUIX will be highly regarded.
This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with the successful candidate having a current Australian Government security clearance and be willing to undergo extensive additional employment suitability checks.
