Paralegals/Graduate Lawyers - Baseline Clearance essential
Initial contract to 31 December 2024 with the possibility of extension - part-time arrangements available
The Role
The position will require the Paralegals and/or Graduate Lawyers to assist with supporting the team to assess a significant number of applications made under the Migration Regulations Act 1994 (Cth).
The successful applicants will ideally have legal qualifications or be in the advanced stages of completing their legal studies or having recently graduated.
The Responsibilities
The role will require the Paralegal / Graduate Lawyer to:
- have experience with statutory administrative decision-making processes;
- have excellent attention to detail;
- be timely, reliable and work under pressure; and
- have strong assessment and judgement skills and experience to identify further complexity in the applications.
The Requirements
The Paralegals and/or Graduate Lawyers will potentially be exposed to challenging and difficult and/or highly emotive material. Previous experience dealing with difficult material will be highly regarded.
Strong communication and IT Systems skills are essential.
This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with the successful candidates holding a current Baseline Government security clearance.
