The Role

We currently have a secondment opportunity within a high profile Commonwealth Department based in Canberra that is seeking a Paralegal/Junior Lawyer with experience in a Commonwealth setting.

The Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to work as a secondee within the Commonwealth clients’ in-house legal team.

The successful candidate support the legal policy team’s work including:

• legislative development and associated processes;
• administering subpoenas and court orders;
• undertaking legal research to support lawyers;
• understanding relevant legislation and policy frameworks; and
• providing legal administrative support, including electronic filing and inbox management.

The Requirements

A current (minimum) NV1 security clearance experience is a requirement for this role.

A law student or experience as an administrator in a Commonwealth setting with high attention to detail is essential.
